notepad++ ??

Is it necessary to download notepad++. Can we please confirm that it is not possible to edit the same files via the Wordpad utility, which is already included within all Windows installations? HexAmp 23:59, 4 May 2008 (CEST)

The Problem is that Linux and windows use different ways to mark the end of the line(in a text file). The standard Notepad and Wordpad do not recognise Linux formatting, even if you make the file look right in them, when you save the file it will not be readable by the box.

Notepad++ is a good example of a windows text editor that can read and write in Linux format (there are many other's too), or you could just edit the file on the box with VI ( i might make a little guide to using vi =) --DrOwl 17:02, 24 May 2008 (CEST)
